Explosion-proof Fiber Cement Board
Explosion-proof fiber cement board is designed for use in explosion-hazardous areas. Composed primarily of fiber cement and galvanized steel, it provides explosion-resistant and flame-retardant properties. Unlike ordinary cement board, this board is specially designed to withstand the shock and pressure of explosions while also being fireproof, moisture-resistant, and durable. Explosion-proof fiber cement board can enhance safety in hazardous areas and public spaces. Selection should be based on the specific application. For example, standard specifications are 1200mm*2400mm*9.5mm, with 0.5mm thick steel plates on both sides. Custom sizes of 0.3mm and 0.4mm are also available. When purchasing explosion-proof fiber cement board, how should we test its quality? How can we ensure its quality? The following performance characteristics must be met:
Explosion pressure resistance:
≥2.0 MPa

Fire resistance:
For A1-class non-combustible materials, the fire resistance duration is ≥4 hours, providing time for escape and protection of critical equipment in the event of a fire.

Flexural strength:
This primarily refers to the performance of the steel plate. It requires ≥12 MPa at room temperature and ≥8 MPa in humid environments, without affecting other properties.

Density:
1.5–1.8 g/cm³. When using, balance weight and strength to avoid excessive structural loads.

Impact resistance:
While we cannot test other properties, we can assess impact resistance by using a 1 kg steel ball to impact the explosion-proof fiber cement board 10 times. If no cracks are observed, the board is considered acceptable.

Explosion-proof fiber cement board is manufactured by combining fiber reinforcement technology with explosion-proof material composite processes. Portland cement, ultra-fine silica sand, and alkali-free glass fiber mesh are combined through an oscillation molding process to ensure uniform fiber distribution, effectively preventing structural voids. The entire forming process is highly complex, with the cement board and steel sheet being produced simultaneously. The steel sheet is punched with holes by a machine, allowing it to be securely held. Production workers first position the steel sheet, then add a layer of cement, followed by another layer of steel sheet. Lamination is then performed using a 100-ton press. After lamination, the sheet undergoes curing, which can be seen on both sides of the curing area, where radiators are located. After 12 hours, the edges are polished to prevent scratches during use. The sheet is then cut, packaged, and shipped to the user's specifications, resulting in high-quality explosion-proof fiber cement board.
To facilitate selection, the following describes the main application areas for explosion-proof fiber cement board. High-risk industrial areas primarily refer to locations where there are risks of explosions from flammable gases, dust, and chemicals. For example, petrochemical environments present the risk of oil and gas leaks and explosions, as well as overpressure in reactors. Protective walls can be constructed around flammable and explosive equipment to prevent fragments from flying and shock waves from spreading in the event of an explosion.
Mining:
The environment is humid and dusty. Therefore, explosion-proof fiber cement board must be moisture-resistant, with a moisture content of ≤8% to prevent mold in humid environments.
Food and pharmaceutical industries:
For ingested goods, we place high safety requirements on the board, particularly preventing dust and steam explosions while maintaining a dust-free environment and ensuring that no harmful substances are released during use.
Thus, explosion-proof fiber cement board is primarily used in high-risk environments. The board selection should be tailored to the specific environmental characteristics to ensure a balance between protection and cost-effectiveness.
